The Robin

Last night had to be one of my most favorite episodes of How I Met Your Mother.  As I was turned off by episodes prolonging a duration of a season, I was finally offered answers and the show is actually moving forward.  As I have gotten so invested in these characters throughout the years, it makes me happy when good things happen to them.  Sure, it's all a show, but it's all based on imaginations of real people who have real lives and real dreams.  Now we realize the game is over.

Like all great scenes, they always choose the perfect song.

Chocolate High

"There is somethin' about your love
That makes me just wanna open up
Your flavor is the sweetest thing in life
I'm addicted to your chocolate high"

Where I'm From

In this short documentary, Jay-Z's Life + Times takes an unprecedented behind the scenes look at the creation of Jay-z’s Barclays Center opening concerts. With today being Jay’s 43rd birthday, Hov provides us a present in the form of this very special documentary titled Where I’m From. Gave me goosebumps!

Pump Up The Jam

The Reebok Classics Twilight Zone Pump is one of the most popular Pump basketball shoes of all time - of course made famous by the “Human Highlight Film” himself, Dominique Wilkins. Today brings news that the '90s piece of basketball footwear will be reintroduced with colors inspired by one of the most ferocious dunkers of all-time and the impact-cushioning Energy Return System (ERS) of the original. The pack pays homage to one of the most prominent players to rock the sneaker, Dominique Wilkins. The shoes don the “Human Highlight Film’s'” in-game (white/red), Slam Dunk Championship (grey/red), and Georgia Bulldogs (black/white) colorways. The Reebok Pump Twilight Zone “Dominique Wilkins” Pack will release on December 24 at various Reebok retailers for $120.

Jingle All the Way

Thanksgiving is a wonderful day to express the gratitude for what you have in life and oddly enough provides an excuse to overindulge on all things delicious. It's also the time of year when you know Christmas is just the corner and when radio stations start to bust out their holiday selections.  Commuting to these tunes often puts me in a mode of happiness remembering all the childhood memories during the holidays.  In this video, mastermind Jimmy Fallon invites friends, The Roots and Mariah Carey, to sing "All I want for Christmas is you" along with him and his elementary school pals.  Notice that all of the instruments are ones you'd find in a elementary school music classroom.  Happy Holidays!

"Live to Eat"

I am a firm believer of experiencing a culture through their food and I commend those who actually do it for a living! This episode is the third installment from Semipermanent, a series airing on Arirang TV, and also viewable through Vimeo.  Here we are accompanied by Erk Moynihan and Tiffany Needham as we roam the streets of Seoul, South Korea.  The places they visit, things they eat, and the way they tease my palate is just cruel in the most gratifying way.

Episode 3: "Live to Eat" from Semipermanent on Vimeo.

Electric Run

Last night was the OC 5k Electric Run. Months ago I came across this event and just the thought of running at night with a sea of people decked out in glow sticks was enough for a couple of my friends and I to put a team together and fist pump to the beat all the way to the finish stage! At the finish you're welcomed with neon lights and a dance party! Not to mention, this is all being taped for a music video. The crowd was fun to be around.  People even brought their dogs and strapped glow in the dark rope around them. Next event is in San Diego, and if you're reading this, I'll see you there!

Electric Run pointers:
- You can totally get away with just showing up without paying for registration. Wish I knew
- Target $1 glow in the dark packs don't come with connectors. Very upsetting
- Since it's at night you're going to hit a lot of traffic! Plan on arriving early!
- Getting a group together and dressing in theme could be a lot of fun
- Some places got muddy because of the rain, so wear your crummy kicks
- If you do have a group get glow in the dark rope and attach yourselves together like a centipede. The chances of getting lost is slim to none

The team missing Albert and I

I had a ton of glow sticks and ran out of places to put them so most of them ended up in Jenna's shirt.

Getting glowed up!

This is my old friend Maria. We're twins in many ways.

It was so fun running through these with all the music.

All In

It's incredibly hard to not like this guy.  His determination and work ethic is inspirational and somewhat contagious. Here is the 6th episode of The Return featuring Derrick Rose

The Ramen Girl

Boredom or the plain desire to burry myself in my sheets disregarding any signs of productivity often leads me to browse through the channels in search for what can entertain my lazy bum for the next hour or two.  I came across The Ramen Girl.  It's description alone was too ridiculous to pass up.  Brittany Murphy plays a typical white girl American in search of her own identity in the heart of Japan.  She takes an apprenticeship with one of Japans master chefs to perfect the art that is Ramen.  In a mix between cultures you get hit with comedy, romance, and if you're oriental, the memory of being yelled at by an elder who "knows whats best." If you do come across this movie, kick back relax and get ready to crave some ramen!

One thing that I learned from this movie is that whenever you eat something that someone has prepared for you, no matter how terrible or delicious it is, always be appreciative.  This person took the time and energy to prepare you something so take it as a gift.

Anjelah hits the bayou!

Anjelah Johnson is an ex Raiderette and one of my favorite comedians.  She's probably best known for her nail salon and Bon Qui Qui bits.  I was lucky enough to catch two of her shows while she was touring Southern California.  Here she is touring the everglades.  She's as funny in real life as on stage.  Never a dull moment with this one, I'm sure!

Stussy x Incase

I'm a huge fan of Incase, and when they do choose to work other brands, their collaborations are definitely top shelf! Here they work with the fellas at Stussy to bring you a backpack, duffel, camera bag, iphone case, earphones, and T-shirts.  Expect these to drop in a couple of months.  I'm really digging the backpack and the black/bronze color scheme. Straps remind me of a holster.  Looks like it's almost time for an upgrade!

Designer Con

Here's a brief photo recap of DCON 2012! It's been years since I've been collecting vinyl figures.  I'm a fan of canvas art just as much as the next fella, but having these collectable and rare pieces of art is as just as special to me.  This event had to be the most personable and easy going conventions I've been to.  It's like SD Comic Con, but pre-hollywood takeover.  Got to chat it up with old friends and amazing artists.  Cheers!

Remember my post on Angry Woebots and his stint with HypeBeast? Well here he is with Buff Monster in all their glory!

Great catching it up with my old friend Joemm.  Do check out his line Chubby Boob.  He's doing big things.  Here he is with David Flores and Skullhead.

The main reason for attending DCON is coveting the oh so playful Lava Bunny by Joe Ledbetter.  Really awesome fella!
