The Bat Cave!
Have you ever wanted to live like a superhero? If I had it my way and if it were socially acceptable, I'd walk around with a cape all day and run fast so that it spreads out in the wind. Well here is your chance to live like the Dark Knight himself! Batman is my most favorite amongst superhero comic book characters. The Eden Hotel in Kaosiung City, Taiwan is the modern day Wayne residence. Now I must find a wife that wouldn't mind spending a honeymoon here. Wouldn't it be awesome if it came with your own personal Albert?!

Woebots
Before SDCC became saturated with thousands of fanatics of all things nerdy, I enjoyed the camaraderie built just by having conversations with artists while having them draw their signature characters in my sketchbook. Sketches have become incredibly hard to come by as of recent due to the amount of people wanting to meet the artists. However, through the years I've gotten some pretty cool work done from JLED, Ron English, DEPH, Frank Kozik, David Horvath of Ugly Dolls, Gary Baseman, Simone Legno of tokidoki, TILT, MAD, Buff Monster, amongst many others.
One of my favorite drawings is one done by Aaron "Angry Woebot" Martin. I always enjoyed witnessing the technique all these guys had. Aaron was a really fun guy to talk to. Fresh from the island at the time and rapidly making a name for himself in the industry. You may recognize some of his work when you see bold pandas with cartoonish expressions. He recently did a Paper & Pen session with Hypebeast. Check them out!

Right Meow!
A couple years ago I kind of dragged my buddies into attending a Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary event in a hangar in Santa Monica. Sure I got some looks for even considering in attending this event, but little did they know that this event showcased some of my favorite artists work with a Hello Kitty twist. My favorites were pieces by Joe Ledbetter, Deph, Kozyndan, and Buff Monster. Here is a recap from Bobby Hundreds here.
This Sunday if you're in the LA area, Known Gallery is hosting a Sanrio Hello Kitty, Hello Art book release and a gallery show. The pieces will showcase artwork from different mediums including spray paints, watercolor and ink, canvas, amongst others. See works by graffiti artist POSE, Shepard Fairey, and Caia Koopman, and others. Check out their video below!

Redondo Beach
This weekend I hung out with some of my best buds, Liz and Alfred, out in Redondo Beach. After Liz moved out there, it has been my mission to stop by for a visit. It was really fun catching up, eating, laughing, biking, and sweating..
Friday night we tried the Standing Room. This is a takeout restaurant situated inside a liquor store. The best way for me to describe the food is asian fusion hits americana. I had the Napoleon! All beef patty, truffle fries, short rib, lettuce, cheese, and more! Forget the bottom bun, the truffle fries are a perfect substitute! For dessert we checked Alfreds new craze Wanna Chill shaved ice! Their ice is really revolutionary.
Saturday, we headed over to Kings Hawaiian. I wanted to order everything! I opted with the BBQ Combo which included huli huli chicken, teriyaki beef, kalbi beef, steamed rice, kimchi, and the infamous hawaiian macaroni salad. Tried a bit of Liz and Alfreds french toast and the seasonal pumpkin pancakes.. Yum! Oh and their bread rolls are the bees knees!
After fantasy football talk, recovering from the food coma, and summersaulting in Liz's spacious bedroom, we hit the strand on our bikes! I google mapped it and it was a total of around 20 miles of riding!
Thanks for the great times Liz and Alfred! Can't wait for my next visit. LA Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon here we come!
